Happy 8-8-08 everyone, we will never see this again. For my part of celebrating i have started the day with a piece of cold pumpkin pie and coffee. Yum! My family is making a great effort to eat healthier which i applaud, and i want to join in as well.
The older you get the harder it is to make change, espically this kind. It is funny though when i was 39 and would go to the Dr. everything was great, then you reach 40 and go in for the next visit and everything changes. Oh i am still in good health, however according to the Dr. i have now reached that age. The age when all these tests are needed to access what is going on, they whip out there perscription pad and start filling it out for all the tests they find most neccessary. They continue to write a scrip for this and that, and some more of this at one point you smell the smoke coming from there pen and ask them to slow down. You said a year ago everything was great, yes but now your 40. Evidently there is something in the body that goes haywire once you reach this age. And make no mistake about it, once you reach a certian age thing's do change. My floks had said more than a few times, growing old is not for sissies. Being the typical teenager i would roll my eyes at such statements, i asked my dad one time what he meant, he said you'll see.
So in my attempt to make better and healthier choices i am incorporating more and more produce in my daily diet, my goal is to get to 11 pounds per day. I have to laugh at this, a week's worth of groceries will consist of 77 pounds of produce.
You ask yourself why, i read about this plan from Dr. Oz who is a cardiologist in New York and has tested this on several groups of people and it had amazing effects. Will definately have to work my way up to the 11 pounds.
Will keep you up to date.

40, it's the new 30. Stop trying to become old before your time. We need you in the economy, funding our approaching Social Security checks.
40, is the new 30, 30, is the new 20. After a while none of us are going to know what age we really are. Oh i'll stay in the system to help with your Social Security. And as for feeling old, i never do until i go to the Dr. or recieve my registration for A.A.R.P.
Ok, I think there is alot more than just because you are 40?, hum, i thought we were 5 years apart, first you need to admit the true age...
Can you really eat 77lbs of produce a week, are you kidding. Can you even afford to eat 77lbs of produce, save the money, head to the health food store, never mind, you live once eat what you want. Love you,
